Missoula based composer and trumpet player Bill Kautz celebrates the release of his quartet recording And the light from which you came is now the [love] work we must do on Redshift Records (Vancouver, BC) on October 2, 2026 with an album release show. He will be joined by Jessica Catron, cello; Jeremy Drake, guitar and Aria Peters, violin to play his 4 movement piece live again with some new material as well.
And the light...is a four movement chamber work by Kautz that draws inspiration from the story of the life, death and ongoing influence of his infant son Sterling, harnessing each family member's unique voice, contribution and influence to their ongoing story. This work balances composed material with improvisation while highlighting the healing power of love and the ongoing journey of grief.
