Singing Resistance
RESISTANCE SONG CIRCLE hosted by Singing Resistance Missoula, A.K.A. Missoula Resists SALT (Sing-Along Together)!
ALL ARE WELCOME to join the mass movement of singers protecting & caring for our communities in the face of rising authoritarianism. We are taking regular action grounded in love, solidarity, defiant joy, and noncooperation.
We sing songs that are simple, taught-by-ear, and are relevant to these times. While short, simple, and repetitive by design, the songs hold deep themes around the human experiences of grief, righteous rage, courage, and love.
All voices welcome! You do NOT need to be a "good" singer to come make good trouble.
No musical experience necessary, just bring yourself exactly as you are.
Our goals:
♡ ...to become more prepared for ongoing & escalating authoritarian threats by building community infrastructure that keeps us more secure.
♡ ...to heal from the impacts of living in an oppressive society by reclaiming our capacity to feel and express emotion, to connect deeply with each other, and to act in solidarity across differences.
♡ ...to end all oppressive systems. We sing not only for the world that we want to create, but to create that world right here and now.
Singing has historically been a critical part of social movements globally as well as here in the U.S., with songs rooted in spirituals, folk, and gospel music. While our project is secular, it is heavily inspired by these movements, including: South Africa's Anti-Apartheid Movement, Estonia's Singing Revolution, the U.S. Civil Rights Movement, and U.S. labor movements. We believe in the POWER OF THE PEOPLE to shape our future!
Always free. Please consider donating to Free Cycles as a THANK YOU for welcoming us to their wonderful space."
Located in Free Cycles’s Streetside room. Entrance is at the corner of 1st and Walnut.

Kinetic Convergence Dance Show
Kinetic Convergence Dance (KCD) presents:
THE PROM QUEEN
Following four high school friends through their night of senior prom, looking into their relationships with each other and the outside world, this show dives into the queer stereotypes that are shown and in some cases, hidden, for the teen queer community as they decide whether or not it’s easier to hide who they are or be who they are at the risk of backlash from the community around them.
The night takes a turn as the audience decides who will win PROM QUEEN by casting their vote at intermission after learning about each of the contenders and their backstories!
Come dressed in your best (it’s your prom too!) and join our dancers on stage to dance the night away!
General admission tickets sold at the door, venmo or cash only.
Doors open at 6pm! Show begins at 6:30pm!

Lena Marie Schiffer and the House of Sky, with support from Junior!
Join for an engaging evening of live music! Doors will open at 630pm. Junior will play from 7pm to 8pm. Lena Marie Schiffer and the House of Sky will play from 8:30pm to 10pm. $10 at the door.
All are welcome… and Thank you! About the bands and musicians:
Lena Marie Schiffer and The House of Sky - Montana Folk Music
Lena Marie Schiffer is a folk singer-songwriter based in Livingston, Montana, known for her deeply personal lyrics and powerful storytelling. After a decade of touring nationally with her former band, Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs, she embarked on a solo career, developing a sound that blends folk, indie, and Americana influences.
In 2024, Lena teamed up with classically trained violinist, Ani Casabonne. Originally from Frisco, Colorado, Ani discovered her love for folk and bluegrass at a young age and quickly became a staple in the Montana music scene. Together, their undeniable chemistry captivates audiences, whether in intimate venues or on festival stages. Ani and Lena recently brought on additional members to form The House of Sky band – Ian Jarvi (drums), Michael Kirkwood (electric guitar), and Grant Klopfer (bass) — bringing Lena's songs to life in their fullest capacity.
Lena's debut solo album, House of Sky, was released on February 6th, 2026. Produced by Courtney Hartman, the album is a powerful and intimate exploration of the peaks and valleys of life. Through her deeply personal lyrics, Schiffer gracefully explores themes of love and connection, while also confronting the raw pain of grief and the uncertainty of life's challenges. Schiffer's grounded voice and honest storytelling guide listeners on a journey of self-discovery and self-forgiveness, making House of Sky a testament to the quiet strength found in moving forward.
Promotional Links:
Junior:
At the junction of folk, pop, and cosmic country, you'll find Junior, a Montana-based trio composed of songwriters Hermina Jean, Caroline Keys, and Jenny Lynn.
Set in an unsentimental West, their songs explore themes of romantic heartache, grief, aging, and life transitions. Lyrically and musically, their work captures the magical thinking required to endure such changes, drawing comparisons to artists like Mazzy Star, Sibylle Baier, The Cowboy Junkies, S.G. Goodman, and The Roches.
Formed in Missoula in 2019, the group began collaborating with Grammy winner Eric Heywood in 2020, who contributed his psychedelic pedal steel to their debut album, Warm Buildings. Most of the band now resides in the historic mining town of Butte, MT.
Junior's sophomore album, Alive in Another Way, was recorded at the Rope Room in Astoria, OR in the spring of 2025. It is currently in the final stages of production, and the band is seeking label support for a 2027 release.

We’re also inviting anyone to bring their own parts, gear, and bicycles to swap, trade, or sell with the community- For table details email: freecycles406@gmail.com
•Be sure to B.Y.O.T(-Shirt) to be Screen printed from 1:00PM-4:00PM
There is no set fee to sell your gear or your cycles, although we’d appreciate any donation from your proceeds!
Proceeds from the Bike Sale and Swap Bazaar will go towards our Free Cycles Forever Campaign and to help keep our Open Shop and Build a Bike program free for the community.
With hundreds of bikes to choose from! Regular programming will be on hold for this special day (no bike fixing or building). Support your local non-profit, re-use, and pedal power!
